Most Affiliates Are Fundraising Organizations

Many of our affiliates are schools, teams, community groups, and nonprofits raising funds. One person signs up the organization, then shares the link or QR code with their team or group.

By signing up, you’re agreeing to a few simple terms that help keep everything clear and fair. If you ever have questions, we’re here to help!

Getting Started

  • The person registering as a LocalZ Community Affiliate (LCA) must be 18 years or older.

  • Members of the fundraising team can be younger, but parental supervision may be required in some cases.

  • Groups and Organizations need one person registered as the contact. Payouts will be to the Group / Organization.

  • Only real people allowed—no bots.

  • You’ll need to give us your full name, email, and a few other details to sign up.

  • One fundraising campaign = one login. Please only share your login with campaign leaders.

  • You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and your account secure.

Ambassadors (LCAA)

If you refer an individual or organization that becomes a LocalZ Community Affiliate (LCA), you become a LocalZ Community Affiliate Ambassador (LCAA).

How It Works

  • You earn 12% commission on the earnings of each LCA you refer.

  • This includes renewals of the business subscriptions the LCA brings in.

  • Your commission is not deducted from the LCA’s share. It is deducted from LocalZ’s portion of the subscription.

Example

  • ABC Burgers signs up for a $144 business directory listing.

  • The referring LCA (e.g., 4H) earns 50% = $72.

  • You (as the LCAA) earn 12% of the LCA’s $72 = $8.64.

Ambassador Rules

  • LCAA status is valid as long as the referred LCA remains active.

  • You can refer multiple LCAs and earn from each one.

  • You must have a valid PayPal account and meet the same tax reporting requirements as LCAs (Valid EIN for Groups and SS# for Individuals).

  • We suggest you contact a CPA if you are not sure of any income ramifications to your personal circumstances

  • The same payout rules apply (see below).

What You Can and Can’t Do

  • You can use your unique affiliate link and QR code to promote LocalZ.

  • You can share this in emails, on websites, social media, etc.

  • We’ll give you additional tools (like banners and images) to make it easy.

  • Don’t use your link to create a business profile for yourself. That’s not allowed.

  • Don’t misrepresent your relationship with LocalZ (for example, don’t say you work for us).

How You Receive Your Funds

  • You earn 50% of the business subscription fee, including renewals.

  • You do not earn a share of ad revenue, featured listings, or any other services.

  • Payments are made once your commission balance reaches $50.

  • Payments are processed monthly.

  • Your cookie lasts 60 days—if someone signs up within that time, you get the credit.

    When someone clicks your unique affiliate link or scans your QR code, a tracking cookie is placed on their device that is valid for 60 days. If that person signs up for a paid LocalZ business listing within 60 days of clicking your link, you will receive full commission credit for the referral.

    Please note: If the same user clicks a different affiliate’s link after yours, the most recent link clicked will take precedence.

    The 60-day tracking period applies to each individual referral and does not limit the duration of your overall participation in the LocalZ Community Affiliate Program

Important Rules

  • Don’t use shady or spammy marketing tactics.

  • Only promote LocalZ in ethical, legal ways.

  • Follow all laws, including U.S. laws like CAN-SPAM and other email marketing regulations.

  • We can withhold commissions if rules are broken.

Ending the Agreement

  • You can leave the program any time.

  • We can also remove you if rules are broken.

  • If you leave or we end the program, you’ll still be paid what you’ve earned that year (as long as it’s over $50 and not from rule violations).

Other Legal Stuff

  • You’re not an employee or partner of LocalZ—you’re an independent promoter.

  • We’re not responsible for any losses or damages you might face from being in the program.

  • We may update these terms from time to time. Continued participation means you agree to the new terms.
