Hello and welcome to our little slice of the internet! Thank you for visiting our shop. We are a family business located in the countryside of Essa, Ontario, Canada (just outside of Barrie). Our main focus is handcrafted, luxury live edge wood clocks and wall art.
The original idea came to Les while living in the outback of Australia in the early 1980’s. However, he was too busy sheep farming and starting a family to pursue the idea at the time. In 2016, he revisited the idea and approached his children about starting a business.
After some brainstorming, the family decided to go all in and AB Designs was born. Our company name encompasses a double meaning, for the Generations of family involved in the business and because our hope is that your timepiece will become an heirloom, passed down the generations to come.
The business has since grown to five members, and our product line continues to expand. We work with all native Ontario, Canada wood species, mostly salvaged and processed from within 100km of our shop location. All of our other raw materials are also produced in Canada, with the exception of our mechanisms which are proudly US made. Supporting and giving back to the local economy is our main focus, and is intertwined with every business decision we make!
Les departed from this earth in 2021 in the presence of his beloved family. We will continue his legacy by keeping AB Designs alive and flourishing. Love you dad, until we meet again.
