    GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. American Roofing Company installed a new roof (shingles and underlayment) over compromised plywood sheathing on my house when I purchased the home 2-years ago as I changed U.S. Army duty stations to Fort Knox, KY from Europe. The new roof was purchased under the previous owner as a condition of the sale and the warranty did not transfer, even though the home was purchased within days of the new roof going on. Two years later, we have soft spots throughout the roof with buckling due to the bad plywood sheathing. Every time it rains, water runs into my daughters room.

    American Roofing Company sent a roofer out on 6 August 2025 to inspect the damage. Spencer confirmed the sagging due to bad sheathing and that he could get a team to fix it in 4-5 hours. Unfortunately, his headquarters denied the request because I wasn’t the original purchaser and the warranty didn’t transfer. Don’t be fooled by the lifetime warranty and make sure to read the fine print. They want your money and are uninterested in standing by the quality and integrity of their work. Based on my experience, even with the warranty you can still expect shoddy work from the roof contractors that will require repairs later on. Couldn’t recommend a company less. If I could give negative stars, I would.
